Galaxy Thief release high-octane energy, supercharged new single "Second Messing"

Hand-picked by Yamaha in 2021 to be the first ever Yamaha Music London Ambassadors, Galaxy Thief are a British Indie Rock 4-piece from Dorset. Influences from The 1975, Angels and Airways, Foo Fighters, The Band CAMINO and Nothing But Thieves infuse their own unique and unprecedented sound.

Pre-Covid they enjoyed success from local pubs to popular music venues and festivals around the UK, including Bestival, Silverstone F1 Grand Prix , and headlining Southampton’s Music in the City. In 2018, The band’s second single, ‘Money!’, featured on ITV’s ‘This Morning’ show, and in the same year the band headlined at the Southampton Christmas Lights Switch-On. They were also featured on SKY MYTV ‘My Top Ten’ and have since been played on SKY TV as well as hundreds of radio plays both nationally and internationally.

Post Covid Galaxy Thief have been rebooted with a new and energetic singer/songwriter Rhys Messenger and have gained a new more mature sound, which has rewarded them with a residency at the award-winning Foodies Festivals and latterly as semi-finalists in the Pilton Stage competition to play at Glastonbury 23.

They have just released “Second Messing”, the second song in a series of five incredible singles recorded at the legendary Woodworm studios with producer Michael Smith.

“Second Messing” is the track for that person who won’t give you a clear indication of where things are going. George, who came up with the original idea for the song says ‘Where most songs are about being either in love or out of it, “Second Messing” fills that no man’s land between being interested enough but still unsure whether you want to commit’.

Full of high-octane energy, supercharged lead vox, massive lead guitar and hard hitting lyrics, the song resonates with everyone who has ever been at the beginning of a relationship.
